Short description

LanCall lets iPhones text and call each other with no internet: over local Wi‑Fi, or directly phone to phone. No accounts, no servers, end-to-end encrypted.

Long description

LanCall is a messenger for the places where phones have no signal: cruise ships, planes, trains, festivals and campsites. Open it on two iPhones and they find each other over the local Wi‑Fi, or connect directly using Apple’s peer-to-peer Wi‑Fi, the same kind of link AirDrop uses. There is no sign-up, phone number or email, and there are no servers: messages and voice calls go straight from one phone to the other, end-to-end encrypted with Apple’s CryptoKit. Strangers can only send a request, and nothing rings until you accept. LanCall collects no personal data.
